The Adventures of Beeman: World Cup I
We’re ready for Bob Beeman, of our Oar Manufacturing Team, to audition for reality TV show “The Amazing Race.”
Our Regatta Service team travels to assist competitors at races all around the world. At the helm of many of our international regattas is Bob, who started working at Concept2 over 30 years ago. Bob brings his wealth of experience to help elite athletes in the World Rowing Cup series: the highest level of competition in the sport. (The World Rowing Championships are replaced by the Olympics every four years.)
This year, Bob and our team traveled to Plovdiv, the second-largest city in Bulgaria, in our well-appointed Concept2 Regatta Service trailer. The trailer houses everything we need to repair oars and assist athletes. To drive the trailer to Plovdiv, Beeman’s adventures began with flights from Burlington, (Vermont), to Chicago (Illinois), Frankfurt (Germany) and finally Hamburg (Germany). Driving the trailer to and from Bulgaria, Bob and the team traveled through nine countries: Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy and Switzerland.
There were so many highlights of this trip including driving the service trailer on the autobahn and dining along the Donau River on the Romania/Slovakia border, to name a few (and to show a few below!).
