Internal Improvements at Concept2

During these uncertain times, we at Concept2 are focused on so many things—the most important of which is doing what we can to help frontline workers in our community. We’re also trying to take care of our customers as they are homebound, answering questions and responding to inquiries from the safety of our remote offices.

In addition to the above, we’ve also been making changes to our physical and procedural operations at our Morrisville, Vermont USA offices and production areas. Our goal is ensure the safety and health of our employees, their families, our suppliers and subcontractors as we are gradually able to return to these spaces.

Vermont’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order took effect on March 25. It’s currently scheduled to end on May 15, though, at this moment, we’re uncertain whether or how this date will change. In the meantime, certain businesses are very slowly being allowed to reopen with a number of limitations and strict safety requirements. As this happens, we'll be ready to welcome employees back to a working environment that will meet new standards of safety, cleanliness and good health.

While most of our team was working remotely and production was on hold, a small number of employees remained onsite to take care of the physical space as allowed by our state regulations. In addition to keeping the place warm and safe, they used this time to install a number of improvements to our workplace. These include but are not limited to:

• Hands-free options installed on sink faucets, toilets, urinals, light switches and door openers.
• Appropriate soap in dispensers where people are washing hands.
• A new foot-pedal operating sink in our warehouse with a hands-free paper towel dispenser. (This brings additional access closer to employees who are further from our existing bathrooms.)
• Hand sanitizer dispensers have been added, where needed.
• All janitorial cleaning products include disinfecting properties.
• Exterior two-way intercoms have been placed at our doors for delivery driver communications.
• Outdoor portalets for delivery drivers.

In addition to these physical improvements, we have also developed a training plan for employees. This plan covers the specific safety requirements for our workspaces. All employees are also required to complete the state’s training and certification processes. This training covers requirements such as mask wearing, maintaining physical distance, staying home if sick, washing hands frequently, and staying out of shared spaces.

We take the safety and health of our employees very seriously. You can rest assured that we are doing everything we possibly can to make our facility ready for safe operation. We look forward to the day we are back to the next ‘new normal’ and can get back to full speed at filling your orders again.
